The Ultimate Guide to Baby Passport Photos (Zero Tears!)

If you thought taking your own passport photo was hard, try taking one of a wiggling 3-month-old. However, doing it at home is significantly easier (and cheaper) than dragging a baby to a pharmacy studio.
1. The 'White Sheet' Method
Infants cannot stand or sit up straight. The best method is to lay them down.
- Lay a plain white sheet on the floor (or a mattress) in a well-lit room.
- Place your baby on their back on the sheet.
- Stand directly above them (safely!) to take the photo looking down.
2. Car Seat Method
If your baby is a bit older, you can drape a white sheet over a car seat and buckle them in (hiding the straps under the sheet if possible, or letting our AI remove them). This keeps their head supported.
3. Eyes Open?
For newborns (under 6 months), eyes can be closed or partially open in many countries. However, for older babies, eyes must be open. Try using a rattle or toy behind the camera to grab their attention.
4. No Pacifiers or Hands
Ensure no hands, toys, or pacifiers are in the frame. If a parent's hand is supporting the head, it must not be visible.
