About SnapPass
Bridging the gap between human applicants and rigid government algorithms.
The Problem
Rigid algorithms vs. Human applicants
From Frustration to Validation
SnapPass wasn't born in a boardroom. It started in a queue at the visa application center. After watching applicant after applicant get turned away because of "shadows on the ear" or "incorrect chin height," we realized a critical flaw in the system: government vetting algorithms are rigid, but applicants are human.
We saw people losing money on non-refundable appointments and canceling travel plans simply because their photos failed unseen technical checks. We decided to bridge this gap—not by just "editing" photos, but by pre-validating them against the exact same biomechanical standards used by border control agencies.
Who We Are
Engineers & Compliance Analysts
Engineers, Not Just Editors
We are a small, engineering-focused product team based in Europe and North America. Our background isn't in marketing—it's in computer vision and data compliance.
We have spent months analyzing the technical requirements of ICAO Doc 9303 (the global standard for machine-readable travel documents) to understand exactly how biometric scanners "see" a face. We are independent builders committed to solving the "rejection anxiety" that plagues modern travel documentation.
Standards
ICAO Doc 9303 & ISO/IEC 19794-5
Engineered for Compliance
SnapPass is built responsibly. Unlike beauty apps that smooth skin or alter features, our engine is strictly non-destructive to biometric data. We rely on official documentation from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and ISO/IEC 19794-5 to guide our validation logic.
We regularly audit our algorithms against new government mandates to ensure our "pass" criteria matches the reality of embassy requirements. Transparency is our core metric: if a photo cannot be fixed without violating strict anti-alteration rules, we tell you to retake it rather than processing a non-compliant image.
